Rehab update
It’s been a couple of months since my last post so I figured it’s time for an update on my rehab from the stress reaction in my femor.
Week 4: Femoral stress reaction
Not the ideal result…
Week 3: Sidelined
Sidelined with a week of no running and further investigation into my left leg soreness.
Week 2: Let’s get back on track
Not a bad week, still managing a sore left leg but getting through training ok, with some further adjustment to come. Re-focusing on nutrition and getting back down to a better racing weight.
Week 1: Back with new goals
I’m back to the blog, I wasn’t sure if this day would come or not but here we are. It has been nearly 5 months since Melbourne Marathon, so I’ll start off with a short summary of what’s happened since then and then jump into the latest week of training.
Week 35: Taper and marathon goals
Well it’s officially taper time. Volume this week was reduced to about two thirds of usual weekly volume. Also some thinking on goals for the marathon.
Week 34: Last long run completed
Last long run and proper training phase now complete. It’s a good feeling knowing the hard training is done and the next couple weeks lighten off to prepare for marathon day!
Week 33: Counting down 3 weeks to go
After a big weekend of racing and a 3 and a half hour long run it turns out my legs were more tired than I first thought this week. Not too surprising really; so some minor changes to the plan to get on top of it early. Only 3 weeks to go now until marathon day.
